Job Description

ProSource of Sarasota is looking for someone who can handle multiple tasks and customer service with ease. This position begins as an hourly wage and comes with the opportunity to move into full-time sales earning commissions.

As a Customer Service Sales Assistant, you are responsible for handling various tasks related to the administrative support of the showroom, allowing the Management and Sales team to concentrate on sales, members, and prospects. This will include greeting clients as they enter the office, answering telephone calls, handling customer service related requests, placing orders, etc.

Other responsibilities for the Customer Service Sales Assistant will include:

  • Placing merchandise orders with vendors
  • Following shipments and notifying Account Managers, Members and Clients when received
  • Maintaining a level of basic knowledge about flooring products and updating product knowledge on an as needed basis through online resources, and other training opportunities
  • Communicating any concerns from members to Account Managers
  • Greeting clients as they enter the office
  • Reviewing and updating financial records per the showroom policy
  • Utilizing proprietary software systems to manage financial processes
  • Maintaining showroom’s sample system
  • Recording deliveries and maintaining inventory with computer system
  • Working with Sales Manager to ensure all policies and guidelines are being followed
  • Observing all safety and security procedures
  • Updating prices in the system and on the showroom floor as directed by the Sales Manager

Job Requirements

We are looking for a Customer Service Sales Assistant candidate who possesses a strong administrative background and a working knowledge of accounting systems. In addition, the Customer Service Sales Assistant must have good follow-up skills and a strong attention to detail in order to be considered.

Other requirements for the Customer Service Sales Assistant include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to courteously answer telephone calls and write business correspondence
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate numerical data as well as calculate figures and amounts (discounts, interest, commissions and percentages)
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Internet communications software
  • Knowledge of computerized inventory control systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to understand and communicate numerical data
  • Ability to calculate simple figures and amount
  • Proven strength of following through on commitments
